How to create a CGoban shortcut for Windows ?

Java Web Start should propose to create a shortcut when you install the client software.

If it didn't or if for some reason you refused to create it, you still can do it. You'll first need to launch Java Web Star.

For java 5 users  :

For instance with java version 1.5.0_06 (if you have another version, the number will be slightly different but the method is still right):

  • You'll find it under program files ===> java ====> jre1.5.0_06 ===> bin
  • Run javaws.exe
  • You'll see a list of java softwares
  • Right click on  CGoban3 and select "install shortcuts"
  • Close java web start

For java 6 users:

  • Click Start
  • Click Run (or use the shortcut windows-R) then type javaws -viewer. Type that very carefully: the "-" is needed, and it needs a space before it and no space after it.
  • This will launch the java application manager. You'll see a list of application, select the line where CGoban is displayed
  • Right-click on CGoban line and select "install shortcuts".
  • Close java web start
