How to uninstall CGoban3?

You can uninstall the client program CGoban from the java web start aplet viewer. To launch that viewer for windows users, do as explained below:

For java 5 users :

For instance with java version 1.5.0_06 (if you have another version, the number will be slightly different but the method is still right):

  • You'll find it under program files ===> java ====> jre1.5.0_06 ===> bin
  • Run javaws.exe
  • You'll see a list of java softwares
  • Right click on CGoban3 and select "uninstall" or "delete"
  • Close java web start
  • Remove CGoban3 from the Windows Control Panel if it is still displayed there

For java 6 users:

  • Click Start
  • Click Run (or use the shortcut windows-R) then type javaws -viewer. Type that very carefully: the "-" is needed, and it needs a space before it and no space after it.
  • This will launch the java application manager. You'll see a list of application, select the line where CGoban is displayed
  • Right-click on CGoban line and select "uninstall" or "delete"
  • Close java web start
  • Remove CGoban3 from the Windows Control Panel if it is still displayed there
